Dr. Sumit Kumar Choudhary is an established academician, researcher, author, editor, consultant and influential thought leader in Forensic Science discipline. He is a Gold Medallist in Forensic Science from National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and holds a Ph.D. degree in Forensic & Behavioural Science and boasts of a highly decorated academic profile. His Professional experience of a decade involves his association with the first forensic science university in the world in capacity of a UGC Research Fellow which was followed by his appointment as the first faculty member in the first police university of India, Raksha Shakti University. He has been instrumental in the growth story of Raksha Shakti University by serving in various capacities such as Academic Head of the university, University Vigilance Officer, Member of Board of Governors, Academic Council, Finance Committee, Programme Coordinators to name a few. He went on to become one of the youngest officiating Registrar of the university at the age of twenty nine years and held the office for more than three years.
He is actively involved in Teaching, Training, Research & Forensic case consultancy. He is a sought-after speaker and faculty on a range of forensic subjects. He has been delivering lectures to serving Police Officers, Judges, Private security officers and students of Indian and renowned foreign universities. He has Organized, attended, chaired, convened a number of conferences, seminars, workshops of National & International level and has presented a number of Research papers and addressed scientific and technical sessions in such conferences and Seminars. He is Managing Editor of ‘International Research Journal on Police Science’, Scilla Journal of Forensic Science and ‘Kavach’ Magazine. He is founder chair of FIRST Dialogue, a forensic ideation forum and Principal Investigator of more than 3 research projects at present. He is Life Member of The Indian Science Congress Association, of Forensic Science Development Society, The Indian Society of Criminology & Indian Criminology and Forensic Science Association. He has to his credit more than 20 high impact research publications and is currently guiding many research scholars for their Doctorate, M.Phil. and Master’s Degree. His area of research interest touches emerging forensic areas primarily encompassing but not limited to forensic physical sciences and forensic biological sciences. Dr. Sumit has been instrumental in steering the expansion of academics & Executive Development Programmes at RSU. He is presently serving as the Dean (Training) of the Raksha Shakti University and is in-charge of all Executive Development Programme at RSU.
