About Mr. Gohil Narendrasinh
I am Narendrasinh Gohil grew up in a city called Bhavnagar a district of Saurashtra. I started playing kabaddi during my school days and as it was more of team building it made me play more interestingly. Sooner my school teacher guided me and helped me to learn about basic fundamentals along with the rules of the game.
During my college days I was the captain of the college team that won in Inter Collegiate tournaments from 2007- 2011. During this period I was chosen as the captain of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University in Inter University Tournament.
In a span of 4 years of career as a player sooner I got an opportunity to work in the college (G.L. Kakadia College of Commerce and Management), Bhavnagar in late 2013 to train the college team in Kabaddi for inter collegiate tournament. I started scouting players and began the training in morning and evening sessions with 20 male players. They adapted with basic rules along with the skills and techniques of the game quite easily. Training these boys for over a period of 12 months they had adapted with the game tactics which helped the team to win the Inter Collegiate Kabaddi tournament in the year 2015. After the success of the victory in college tournament I enrolled in Bachelor of Physical Education course where I learned about teaching the young players.
After completing my BPEd I realized to enhance skills more about training and coaching in depth therefore I enrolled into professional coaching course where I learned how to shape up the grassroot and youth players with sports science knowledge in Kabaddi. After completing my Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching in Kabaddi I got an opportunity to work with Gujarat Government’s esteemed institution named Raksha Shakti University as a Kabaddi Coach from November 2018 onwards.
I don’t think there is any other sport in the world that publicly respects the place of play, opponents, coaches and seniors the way Kabaddi does. People constantly praying to the mat, offering their respect to coaches and seniors, touching the feet of their own coaches. It is almost second-nature to the players to do all that. It is greatest life lesson you can learn from Kabaddi. As a coach my goal is to inculcate these life lessons in the players on the court, as well as in the community and classroom. I strive to enhance the talents of my players, while developing their leadership skills, self-discipline and team building.
I am always open to innovative and new ideas while combining past experiences to provide guidance to my athletes.
I like to spend time with nature & its surrounding. During weekends I play with young kids more of outdoor games. I read articles about players, sports & games
