M.Tech in Cyber Security

M.Tech. Cyber Security is interdisciplinary, innovative and new course which will jointly run by Information Technology and Telecommunication Dept. of RSU. In today’s era, many aspects of our lives rely on the Internet and computers, including communications (email, cell phones), transportation (traffic control signals, car engine systems, airplane navigation), government (birth/death records, social security, licensing, tax records), finance (bank accounts, loans, electronic pay checks), medicine (equipment, medical records), and education (virtual classrooms, online report cards, research). The increasing volume and sophistication of Information security threats– including targeting phishing scams, data theft, and other online vulnerabilities–demand that we remain vigilant about securing our systems and information. The average unprotected computer (i.e. does not have proper security controls in place) connected to the Internet can be compromised in moments. Thousands of infected web pages are being discovered every day. Hundreds of millions of records have been involved in data breaches. New attack methods are launched continuously. These are just a few examples of the threats facing us, and they highlight the importance of Cyber Security as a necessary approach to protecting data and systems. Cyber security involves protecting the information and systems we rely on everyday—whether at home, work or College.

B.Tech in CSE with Specialization in Cyber security

Raksha Shakti University (RSU) will start first batch of B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (Specialization in Cyber Security) from academic year 2017-18. As RSU is first of its kind universities in all India and offers courses related to internal security to create trained, effective and efficient manpower which can help in the various sectors of Internal Security in India. This course in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization “Cyber Security” will help in fulfilling this particular objective of this University.

Information Technology and Cyber security are emerging areas in the field of Computer Science & Engineering. Information Technology is the application of computers to store, study, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data, or information, often in the context of a business or other enterprise which are under threat of technology crimes with advancement of new technology and use of technologies in daily life. Cyber security offers a solution which comprises processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. In a computing context, security includes both cyber security and physical security. This program will offer many areas for specialization including: securing network and allied infrastructure, securing applications, security testing, information testing, information systems auditing, penetration testing, forensic investigation, digital forensics science etc.

Raksha Shakti University (RSU) has started first batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics from academic year 2017-18. Landscape of the Cyber World is fast changing by internet of things (connected devices), internet of people (Social Networking Sites), Internet of Commerce (Online Shopping Sites) and New Generation Intelligent Network of Telecommunication leading to different possibilities of Cyber Crime, which is now not only restricted to computers and its networks, but has also extended to almost every electronic device. The Cyber Criminals can only be defeated through the usage and knowledge of Cyber Crime Investigative tools and Hi-tech Cyber Forensics. The strengthening of the knowledge and the skills of key stake holders for better understanding of all facets of Cyber Crime Investigations, Evidence Collections and Cyber Forensics through a structured theoretical and hands on Diploma Programme is of great relevance. The participants will be exposed to the latest tools and technologies to make them well trained, proficient and Certified Cyber Forensic Examiners (CFEs) to handle Cyber Crime Investigation and logical Processing of digital evidence.

M.Sc In Cyber Security & Digital Forensics

Digital Forensics Expert each involved in a wide range of investigation of cybercrimes such a cyber- terrorism, banking frauds, insurance frauds, social media crimes, data breach, data theft, malware, hacking etc. Cyber Forensic experts are involved to identify and analyze the digital evidences with high tech cyber forensics tools and methodology in pursuit of evidences. Tasks include recovering data from digital media, analysis of records to establish the location of a device, uncovering data trails, and careful documentation of the investigation, presenting findings and acting as an expert witness in court. Various subjects will be taught by our expert faculties like, Cyber Forensics, Memory Forensics, Network Forensics, Cyber Law, Vulnerability assessment and Penetration testing, Malware Analysis, Cyber Auditing, Risk and Compliance, Machine learning and Python for cyber experts etc.

Students have to take 3 to 4 month training in choice of specialized field and need to pursue a research project to get final degree. Students will get training in various government and private organizations for their final semester research project.
