About Dr. Shweta Sharma

Dr. Shweta Sharma is a dedicated and compassionate Faculty with a doctorate degree specializing in Forensic Toxicology. She holds a B.Sc in Microbiology and M.Sc in Forensic Science, having a combination to cater the multidisciplinary challenges in Forensic Evidence Examination. Her thrust areas of research include Forensic Toxicology, Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, though her expertise also lies in Forensic Document Examination. She has 08 research publications in different national and international journals. She is a Life Member of Indian Criminology and Forensic Science.

She has served as a Faculty of Forensic Science, at Department of Forensic Science, Jain University. She has been honoured at Maharaja’s College, University of Mysore, Karnataka, for her contributions in forensic fraternity in State of Karnataka. Earlier, she has been associated with National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) and CEARCH – Toxicology working in the area of analytical toxicology. She is trained in HPLC, GC, Brain fingerprinting, Layered Voice Analysis, DNA Fingerprinting, Neuro – criminology, image/video authentication, FARO 3-D scanner, Comparison microscope, Eyepiece less Stereomicroscope, EDXRF, Polygraph, Video Spectral Comparator and Voice Spectrograph. She has been a visiting faculty and examiner at Gujarat University and Parul University. She has delivered expert lectures and chaired sessions in many conferences and workshops. She has been a subject expert and delivered lectures at Gujarat Police Academy. She has been an active member of many organizing committees, convener, rapporteur for conferences, training programs and workshops of international level. She has been conferred best paper awards at many conferences. Apart from curricular activities she is a sports enthusiast with ranks in sports events for badminton and taekwondo. Discipline and leadership skills inculcated through NCC “C” with an “A” grade is reflected in all her endeavors and has been applauded at various platforms. She has been involved in bringing new ideas and initiatives for the development of her professional competency and organization as a whole.
